GuideA Guide to Online Therapy in Texas and Oklahoma

I'm Kyla C. Kaufman, MEd, LPC, NCC, EMDR Trained. I see children, teens, and adults by secure video across Oklahoma and Texas. Here's what to know before you start.

What online therapy is like

We meet by secure video. You get a link a few minutes before each session. Find a private spot at home, at school, or wherever you feel comfortable. There's no commute and no waiting room. Research shows telehealth works as well as in-person therapy for most concerns.

Why your location matters

Counselors are licensed by state. I'm licensed in Oklahoma (LPC #11651) and Texas (LPC #100972), so you need to be located in one of those two states at the time of each session.

Checking your insurance

Most Oklahoma insurance and SoonerCare are accepted, along with several plans in Texas. Coverage varies by plan and state, so the Rates & Insurance page has the current list.

  • SoonerCare or SoonerSelect: book through my client portal (SimplePractice).
  • Commercial insurance (Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare/Optum, and others): book through Headway.
  • Private pay or not sure: send me a note and we'll sort it out together.

What we can work on

Anxiety, trauma and PTSD, depression, stress, grief and life transitions, and support for veterans and military families. I use EMDR and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). See Services and Counseling in Oklahoma & Texas.
