About

Hi, I'm Kyla.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master's in Education and Counseling. My practice, TeleKyla, is fully virtual — designed so therapy fits into your life, not the other way around.

I became a therapist because I believe deeply in the power of being truly heard. Too often people arrive in my (virtual) office carrying years of "I should be over this by now" — and my first job is to gently retire that voice.

My work centers on anxiety and trauma, but at its heart it's about helping people rebuild a relationship with themselves that feels safer, more curious, and more free. I draw from evidence-based approaches — including EMDR, cognitive-behavioral therapy, other trauma-focused modalities, and mindfulness — always tailored to who you are.

Before becoming a counselor, I served in the Army Reserves — an experience that shaped how I understand resilience, transition, and what it means to carry hard things quietly. TeleKyla is a veteran-owned practice, and I'm especially glad to work with service members, veterans, and military families.

Outside of sessions, you'll find me near water whenever possible, reading more books than I can finish, and reminding myself to practice what I preach.

Mission & Values

Care that meets you where you are.

TeleKyla exists to make thoughtful, evidence-based therapy feel less clinical and more human. I'm an EMDR-trained counselor and Army veteran, and both shape how I work: structured, steady care with deep respect for what people carry quietly. Every client — service member, teen, or somewhere in between — gets the same privacy, pacing, and respect.

You set the pace.

Whether we're processing a memory in EMDR or just finding words for a hard season, you control how far and how fast we go. We pause whenever you need to.

Evidence with warmth.

EMDR, CBT, and mindfulness-based approaches — delivered as real conversation, not a script. Structure and humanity aren't opposites here.

Veteran-informed care.

Military life shapes how people experience stress, transition, loss, and strength. I served in the Army Reserves, and I bring that understanding into every session — for service members, veterans, and the families around them.

Accessible by design.

Telehealth-only and licensed in Oklahoma and Texas, so geography, schedules, and mobility don't stand between you and support.

Whole-person respect.

You are more than a symptom or a diagnosis. I work with the full context of your life — culture, relationships, values, and history.
