HIPAA resources

A short guide to your privacy rights and the documents that describe how we protect your health information at TeleKyla.

What HIPAA means for you

HIPAA (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) is a federal law that protects the privacy and security of your protected health information (PHI). As your therapist, we are required to safeguard your PHI, tell you how it may be used, and honor your rights around access, amendment, and disclosure.

Your rights, in plain language

  • Ask to see or get a copy of your records.
  • Ask us to correct information you believe is inaccurate.
  • Request confidential communication (for example, a different email or phone).
  • Request restrictions on certain uses or disclosures.
  • Get an accounting of certain disclosures we have made.
  • Be notified promptly if a breach affects your PHI.
